Community Manager
Grow and run the ETA Community: the member hub where leaders, practitioners and partners meet by role, interest, industry and city, before, during and after our events.
The role
ETA brings thousands of people together at AI Week, US AI Congress and our AI Ready programs. You keep those connections going the other 51 weeks of the year. You run the ETA Community portal, help members find each other, and turn first-time attendees into active members.
What you'll do
- Run ETA's online communities, organized by role, interest, industry and location, including a community for each AI Week city.
- Welcome and onboard new members so they find the right communities, people and programs in their first week.
- Plan a steady rhythm of programming: discussions, member spotlights, AMAs, virtual sessions and local meetups.
- Review proposals for new member-led communities and support the members who host them.
- Make introductions between members and help them get value from 1-1 connections.
- Write community updates and contribute to the newsletter and social channels with the marketing team.
- Keep the community safe and useful: set and enforce guidelines, and respond quickly to questions and reports.
- Track engagement and retention, and share what members are asking for with the programs and events teams.
What you'll bring
- 3 or more years managing an online community, membership program or professional network.
- Experience with community platforms such as Circle, Slack, Discourse or similar.
- Excellent writing and a warm, clear voice.
- A habit of measuring engagement and acting on what the numbers say.
- Comfort hosting conversations online and in person.
- Interest in AI and emerging technology; you don't need to be an engineer.
- Willingness to travel to ETA events.
